Based Trading Cards founder Alladan Flinn and the Based team recently attended the FSEA Print Embellishment Conference in Nashville, where the brand received an exciting honor at the 33rd Annual Gold Leaf Awards Competition. Flinn took home a Gold Leaf Award for Excellence in Foil Stamping & Embossing, a major nod to the craftsmanship, production detail, and premium finishes that have become a core part of the Based Trading Cards experience.

The award recognized Based Trading Cards in the Best Use of Film Casting category for its Cast & Cure work on Orange Pill In A Pack from Season 4: The Simulation. Two standout cards from the release, #93 “Octopus” and #27 “Common Sense,” received the spotlight for their use of specialty print effects and collector-focused design. For Based, this recognition means a lot because so much of the brand’s work happens in the details: the texture, shine, card stock, finish, and the way each card feels when collectors finally hold it in hand.
For Alladan Flinn and the Based Trading Cards crew, this one hits different. The win is a reminder that the brand isn’t just making cards, it’s helping raise the bar for what a trading card can look and feel like while still keeping the hobby fun, creative, and built for collectors.

Season 4: The Simulation shows exactly what Based is about: real artists, big ideas, limited drops, premium production, and cards that feel special the second they hit your hand. This award is a proud moment for the team, the artists, and every collector who has been ripping packs, chasing hits, and helping build the Based community.
