Bitcoin Trading Cards Grading Guide: TAG vs PSA vs Beckett
After the rip, many collectors think about grading, slabs, and long-term protection. This guide explains the basic grading language around Bitcoin trading cards without telling collectors which grading company they must choose.
Why grade Bitcoin trading cards?
Collectors grade cards to authenticate, protect, display, preserve condition, and create a standardized condition record. Grading can matter more for rare pulls, 1/1s, serialized cards, and cards with strong collector demand.
What is a slab?
A slab is the sealed holder used by grading companies after a card is authenticated and graded. Slabs protect the card and make the grade easy to display or trade.
PSA, TAG, and Beckett
- PSA is one of the most recognized grading brands in the trading card market.
- TAG is known for a modern, data-forward grading presentation.
- Beckett is a long-running grading option familiar to many sports and trading card collectors.
Before you grade
- Inspect corners, edges, surface, and centering.
- Protect the card immediately after pulling it.
- Research fees, turnaround times, and submission rules.
- Consider whether the card’s rarity or personal value makes grading worthwhile.
